Replacement Parts

You have two ways to buy bags and other replacement items. Either way you're supporting your local independently owned vacuum store, just like us!

  • Find the Simplicity retailer near you. While you're there, you can get expert cleaning advice, check out the newest Simplicity products and see product demonstrations.
  • Prefer to buy online? You’re in the right place. When you place an order through, your order is filled by an independently owned Simplicity retail store. Whether it's paper or HEPA media bags, filters, a stair cleaning kit or floor tool, it’s here and available for purchase.

#1 - Don't panic. Your vacuum owner’s manual has a troubleshooting page, which is the best place to start.

#2 - Always unplug your vacuum before examining it.

#3 - Check for clogs in the hose, and check your vacuum bag, which might be full. If the motor is running, but the brushroll isn’t turning, check the belt and replace it if necessary. If you have a Tandem Air vacuum (Synergy or Synchrony models), be sure you have TOOLS ON dial in the correct position for carpet cleaning. Many models also have a thermal reset button on the back of the machine, so follow your owner's manual instructions for resetting after a cool-down period.

#4 - Be sure your electrical outlet is working. Sometimes the outlets with circuit breakers trip and need to be reset.

If all else fails, take your vacuum to the nearest Simplicity retailer for diagnosis and repair. If you're unable to find a nearby retailer, contact us, and we'll help you find an alternative store.

The warning is to comply with California state law and is based on the list of chemicals identified by the State of California in Proposition 65 regulations. California Proposition 65 is known as The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. Even chemicals used within the limits of national regulations and found not hazardous in the quantities associated with the product may require a warning just because the chemical is present. Information about Proposition 65 is available on the website of the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) maintained by the State of California. Click here for more information. We evaluate all chemicals associated with the products that we manufacture and complies with all regulations associated with the chemicals. All potential chemical exposures are below accepted and regulated concentrations. We provide the warning because a chemical covered by the California Proposition 65 may be present and not all listed chemicals provide exposure limit requirements. This is why we have provided the warning when a listed chemical is present.

Simplicity Symmetry clean air vacuum models work so well that they’re recommended by Shaw Floors® for cleaning the Caress carpeting. The Symmetry has a floating brushroll that adjusts to carpet height, so it’s ideal for high pile and ultra-soft carpet fibers. Many other Simplicity models will work well, too. Look for one with a carpet height adjustment feature. If you like lightweight vacuums like the Freedom vacuums, ask your local retailer about Simplicity's soft carpet baseplate, which makes it easy to deep clean your carpet while still being able to push it.

Our favorite vacuum for homes with pets is the Simplicity Fetch with two powerful motors, a granulated charcoal filter, a HEPA media bag, on-board tools, the Pet Hair Beware fur remover tool and a 1-pound sample of dry carpet cleaner for homes with pets.

Any Synergy, Synchrony or Symmetry are also great choices. If you prefer a canister, check out the Wonder with Tandem Air Power Nozzle, which includes the Pet Hair Beware pet hair remover tool). Visit your local Simplicity retailer for a demo and to discuss your home’s flooring, types of vacuums you’re comfortable with and other special needs, like vacuum weight and allergies, before you decide.

Simplicity has lots of vacuums that work well for pets, but there are a few things to remember with any vacuum that captures pet hair:

  • Change your vacuum bag regularly to make sure it's not overfilled or clogged. A vacuum bag more than 2/3 full keeps the vacuum from performing at its peak.
  • Use charcoal or granulated charcoal filters when possible to help control odors.
  • Check your brushroll regularly, and cut off long hairs using a seam ripper or small scissors.
  • Use tools with nylon bristles to lift pet hair on upholstery, bedding and cars.

Your nearest Simplicity retailer answers the phone, based on your phone prefix. When you call, Simplicity matches your telephone prefix with the nearest participating Simplicity retailer by geography. That's why our phone service works best using landlines. Whoever answers the phone personally or via answering machine is an independently owned vacuum store, hopefully near you.

If you need to reach Simplicity’s corporate office, please use our Contact Us form.

Knowing what happens to most owner's manuals, we keep copies of our owner's manuals just a few clicks away in the Customer Support area of this websites. If you're unsure which model you own, check the rating label on your vacuum. Then search for it on the owner's manual page. Mostly we post manuals for machines that are 10 years old or less, but we do have other manuals we can pull out of cold storage for those trusty 20-year-old machines. If your machine isn't listed, send us a message, and we'll open the vault for you.

The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) developed a scientific program to test and measure the effectiveness of vacuum cleaners. The goal of the Seal of Approval program is to help consumers make informed decisions and to encourage manufacturers like Simplicity to improve their products.

Vacuum cleaners are tested and evaluated on three tests: soil removal, dust containment and surface appearance change. The test evaluates a vacuum on it's ability to remove soil from carpet, and then to keep dirt and dust locked in the vacuum and not except into the air where it can be breathed in. Finally it evaluates surface appearance after 900 passes to ensure the vacuum won't damage your carpet. The cleaning program testing varies slightly different between household and commercial vacuums to adjust for the differences in typical carpet height (high pile in homes versus low pile in offices and stores).

Simplicity vacuums that we've submitted for the Seal of Approval program are rated according to test results. Gold is the best test result, followed by Silver and Bronze. You'll notice if you research other vacuum brands on the CRI website that not all brands are represented, or not all vacuums qualify for a Seal of Approval.
